Definitions: 8th grade public school students’ mathematics achievement levels, as measured and defined by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).

English language learner (ELL) refers to students in language assistance programs such as English as a Second Language, High Intensity Language Training, and bilingual education.
