Definitions:
Single-parent: a male or female householder who resides with related children under the age of 18 with no spouse present.
Related Child: any child under 18 years old who is related to the householder by birth, marriage, or adoption
Percentages represent the number of related children living with single parent, single-father, or single mother householders as a percentage of all children residing with a related householder.
Data Source: These were derived from American Fact Finder table B17006 (factfinder2.census.gov/).
Footnotes:
The category "single father" includes: grandfathers, uncles, brothers, cousins, etc. This category includes any male householder residing with a child related by birth, marriage, or adoption.
The category "single mother" includes: grandmothers, aunts, sisters, cousins, etc. This category includes any female householder residing with a child related by birth, marriage, or adoption.
Please note that each estimate has a margin of error above and below the estimate which can be quite large for smaller Wyoming counties.
