Definitions: This indicator reports the number and percentage of children under the age of 18.

Data Source: U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates 2005-2009, 2007-2011, 2009-2013, 2011-2015, and 2012-2016, Table B01001.

Footnotes: The American Community Survey (ACS) is conducted annually and provides vital information about our nation and its population - including the number and percent of children under age 18 in a town or county within the state of Connecticut.

The percent of children under 18 is calculated by adding population from 0 through 17 and dividing by the total population for the state, each county, and each county subdivision (town).
