Definitions:
Enrollment includes Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program
(CHIP), and All Kids expansion. Medicaid and CHIP are funded jointly by
the federal government and state governments. All Kids expansion in
Illinois, which is supported by state funding only, offers health care
coverage to uninsured children who are not eligible for Medicaid or
CHIP.
Data show enrollment as of June 30 of each year. Children are those under age 19.
"Collar counties" refers to DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, and Will.
