Definitions:

The average amount, in dollars, of Child Tax Credit (CTC) benefits received by tax filers making CTC claims in each county.

CTC is a refundable tax credit for working families with children under the age of 17. The maximum benefit is $1,000 per eligible child, and depends on factors such as the number of children and household income. Any CTC benefits that exceed a family’s tax liability are refundable via the Additional Child Tax Credit.
