The total amount, in dollars, from the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), received in each county and the total number of returns receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) in each county.

EITC is a refundable tax credit for workers who earn low or moderate levels of income. The amount received depends on a number of factors, including income and number of children.

Massachusetts provides additional EITC benefits based on the amount of the federal tax credit. The state EITC was 15% of the federal tax credit and increased to 23% of the federal tax credit in January 2016.
