Definitions: Number and rate per 10,000 children ages 0-17 who were victims of serious violent crime.

Data Source: Louisville Metro Police Department, processed by the Kentucky State Data Center. Child population data for rate calculation from the U.S. Census Bureau, 2010 Decennial Census, processed by the Kentucky State Data Center.

Footnotes: Serious violent crime is defined by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniformed Crime Reporting system and refers to aggravated assault, homicide, rape and robbery. The data sample was limited to the ability to geocode select block-level data, therefore incidences without a victim address, or without an address that could be geocoded were excluded.
