Definitions: Number - births in which women reported smoking during their pregnancy on their child's birth certificate.
Rate - births in which women reported smoking during their pregnancy on their child's birth certificate per 100 live births.

Data Source: Live births 2011-2016: Louisiana State Center for Health Statistics

Footnotes: LNE (Low Number Event) - a value of fewer than five events or (for 2011) a rate based on fewer than 20 events (or based on 5 or fewer events after 2011) and is thus not reported.

Please note that the actual number of mothers who smoke during pregnancy may be higher than the data reported here because some mothers who smoke may not report doing so on their child's birth certificate.
