Footnotes: Short-term suspensions refer to out-of-school suspensions ranging from one to ten days and typically occur in response to lesser offenses committed by students. Long-term suspensions last from eleven days up to the remainder of the school year and typically occur in response to a serious offense. 

Excludes charter schools.
