The percentage of 4th grade students that are proficient, i.e., meet or exceed expectations in English Language Arts, by school year (SY).
The PARCC tests were developed in an attempt to measure the full extent to which students are demonstrating mastery of the New Mexico Common Core State Standards (NMCCSS) and were first implemented in SY 2014-2015.
The PARCC English Language Arts assessments are administered in grades 3-11.

The proficiencies reported here for SY 2014-2015 and SY 2016-2017 represent students' 4th grade reading abilities. Grade-level proficiencies are not available for SY 2015-2016; the proficiencies reported here are composites for grades 3-11 which cannot be compared to those for other school years.
In some cases of smaller school districts, the reported data reflect upper or lower bounds of proficiency. To find exact data for all school districts, please consult the New Mexico KIDS COUNT Data Book, which can be found for the current and past years at: http://www.nmvoices.org/nm-kids-count-2.
