Definitions: (Percent) Percent of registered voters who cast a ballot in a citywide general election. Note that since 2014 DC Action has not reported this measure by neighborhood, but does report it Districtwide, along with other key voting data, at https://dckidscount.org/voting-democracy.

Data Source: DC Board of Elections and Ethics, Precinct Election Results and Voter Registration Statistics for the 2010 General Election.

Footnotes: The calculation refers to the number of ballots cast divided by the number of registered voters.

DC has 39 neighborhood clusters, which vary in size and shape. Because voting districts not align perfectly with neighborhood clusters, DC KIDS COUNT aggregated voting data using GIS mapping tools, grouping and splitting voting districts into neighborhood clusters. At the neighborhood level, these data represent close estimations.
