Health insurance promotes preventive care, reduces emergency care, saves money and contributes to a child's overall well-being. This latest data demonstrates that part of our strategy to increase the number of kids in Pennsylvania with health insurance starts with our youngest citizens because the early years of a child’s life are a critical period of brain development.

Definitions: Health insurance coverage status by age group (0-5, 6-17 and 18-24) prior to 2017 estimates. Beginning in 2017, health insurance coverage status is broken into new age groups (0-5, 6-17 and 19-25).
