Definitions: Numerator: Number of deaths of infants residing in Georgia (regardless of where the death occurred) and less than 1 year of age. Denominator: Total number of live births. Rates calculation: 1,000 times the numerator divided by the denominator.

Data Source: Death Certificate Records, Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health, Office of Health Information and Policy. Data collection is the responsibility of the Vital Records Branch.
