Definitions: The number of children ages 0-18 who had some type of health insurance.  The percent is based on the population ages 0-18.

Data Source: U.S. Census Bureau, Small Area Health Insurance Estimates (SAHIE). Detroit and Flint are single-year estimates from the American Community Survey. Prior to 2017, estimates for Detroit and Flint only included children ages 0-17.

Footnotes:

SAHIE methodology changed to use the American Community Survey starting in 2008. Thus, data prior to 2008 should not be compared to data after 2008.
