Average personal income of the residents of a given area divided by the resident population of the area. Personal income is the income that is received by persons from all sources. These figures are current dollars (not adjusted for inflation.) In computing per capita personal income, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) uses the Census Bureau's annual midyear population estimates. Detail information is available at http://www.bea.gov/.
BEA reports that estimates for 2012-2014 reflect county population estimates available as of November 2015. Estimates for 2001 forward reflect the results of the comprehensive revision to the national income and product accounts (NIPAs) released in July 2013. This will create a temporary break in BEA's time series for earlier years.
