Why This Indicator Matters

Nevada has been the fastest-growing state by population for the last five decades. Most of its growth is due to the relocation of people from neighboring states. Low housing costs, favorable tax policies, and an expanding economy have attracted new residents. The largest counties in Nevada by population were Clark County and Washoe County, with a share of 73 and 15 percent, respectively, in 2016.
