Definitions: The child death rate is the number of deaths (from all causes) of children between the ages of 1 and 14, per 100,000 children. The data are reported by the child’s county of residence, rather than by where the death occurred.

Data Source: CBER calculations from Nevada Department of Health and Human Service, Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Office of Public Health Informatics and Epidemiology.

Footnotes: LNE = Low Number Event. Calculated rates based on very small numbers are not statistically reliable.  Average three-year rates were not calculated for an age-specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 5 deaths, prior to 2011-2013. For 2011-2013, rates were not calculated for an age specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 10 deaths. Starting with 2012-2014 data, rates are not calculated for an age-specific population of less than 10,000 or fewer than 12 deaths.
2013-2015 rates were calculated by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
