Why This Indicator Matters
Definitions:
Number - the number of children of children ages 6 months to six years old who received a blood test for lead and had an elevated lead level (≥5 µg/dL)
Percent - the number of children of children age 6 months to six years old who received a blood test for lead and had an elevated lead level (≥5 µg/dL) per 100 children under age 7 who received a blood test for lead
Data Source: Louisiana Department of Health, Louisiana Healthy Homes and Childhood Lead Prevention Program (LHHCLPPP), by special request.
Footnotes:
Parish-level data does not include results for which the parish was unknown. Statewide data is therefore larger than the sum of parish-level data.
The data source has not published new data for this indicator in recent years, but the indicator will be updated on the KIDS COUNT Data Center when new data are released. Until then, these data may provide useful historical information for those working in this field.
