Definitions: Event drop-out rate is the number of students in grades 7 through 12 who leave school between the beginning of one school year and the beginning of the next without earning a high school diploma or alternative credential.

Data Source: North Dakota Department of Public Instruction

Footnotes: UPDATED - February 2022
NA - Data is suppressed if the number of students in the 7th through 12th grade cohort (denominator) is less than 10. Additional suppression is applied if the percentage approached zero or 100 using ranges.
GEOGRAPHY - Data reflect the school location, not the child's place of residence.
NOTE - Data shown in table only includes public schools in North Dakota.

**Starting in the 2019/20 school year, a change in method led to greater accuracy and inclusion of dropouts that had previously been considered too ambiguous to count. Caution is recommended when comparing 2019/20 data to previous years.
