Definitions: Suicide deaths of teens aged 15-19.

Average Annual Suicide Death Rate: Three-year average number of suicide deaths per 100,000 teens aged 15-19. Rates are based on mid-year population.

Average Annual Suicide Death Rate: three-year average number of suicide deaths per 100,000 teens aged 15-19.  Rates are based on mid-year population for 2010-2012 and 2011-2013, and are based on 2012-2014 population for 2012-2014. Cause-specific death rates are based on small data bases; caution must be exercised when attempting to draw conclusions.  

Population Source:  National Center for Health Statistics, estimates from the Vintage postcensal series with an agreement with the U.S. Census Bureau.  July 1, 2011 is from internet release July 18, 2012; July 1, 2012 is from interment release June 13, 2013; July 1, 2013 is from internet release date June 26, 2014; and July 1, 2014 is from internet release date June 30, 2015.
