Lead screening by city and town ("County Subdivision") in Massachusetts
Why This Indicator Matters
Lead screening by city and town ("County Subdivision")
Definitions:
Number: Number of children 9-47 months of age screened for lead poisoning in the given calendar year.
Percent: Percentage of children 9-47 months of age screened for lead poisoning in the given calendar year. Calculated by dividing the total number of children screened by the underlying population in the geographic area based on the US Census Bureau estimate for that year.
Data Source: Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, Screening and Prevalence Statistics, Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Footnotes:
For cities and towns where the number of children screened exceeds the Census Bureau’s population estimate, the Dept. of Public Health reports the percentage of children screened as <99%. These show as 100% in the Data Center.
Starting in 2017, the reports are using slightly revised population estimates.
