Definitions: Obese children (state-level) is the percent of children age 2 to 4 in the Kansas Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program who are obese, based on the Centers for Disease Control BMI-for-age for children 2 years of age and older. Obese is defined as BMI-for-age greater than or equal to the 95th percentile. Data are provided in the Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance System from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The current rate is from 2011.
