Definitions: Numerator: Number of pregnancies to Georgia teen residents ages 15-17 at the time of the event. Denominator: Number of females age 15-17. Rates calculation: 1,000 times the numerator divided by the denominator.

Data Source: Birth Certificate Records, Fetal Death Certificate Records, and Abortion Certificate Records. Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health, Office of Health Information and Policy. Data collection is the responsibility of the Vital Records Branch.

Footnotes: Pregnancies resulting in live births, fetal deaths, and abortions are included. In the event of a multiple (e.g., twin) birth (or fetal death), the event is counted only once. For example, a birth of twins is only one pregnancy. LNE (low number event) indicates that there were 4 or fewer events on which rates would be based.
