Note: Non-consecutive years appear adjacent in the trend line
because one or more years have been deselected.

Definitions: Percent of referrals to Alaska's justice system during the fiscal year for juveniles aged 10 to 17 by race. Referrals reported here are duplicate counts, which means they might include multiple referrals of the same juvenile. Duplicated counts show the overall level of reported juvenile crime.

Race is reported by the juvenile.  "Other" was removed as a choice during Fiscal Year 2010.

Data Source: Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Juvenile Justice

Footnotes: Five years of data were combined to minimize the unreliability of measurement due to the small number of actual events. The reported values  are a moving average across five years.  For example, we report the average value across the years 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
