Infant deaths under the age of one year, per 1,000 live births
Data Source: Vermont Agency of Human Services, Department of Health, Vital Statistics
Numbers and rates presented here are based on data for three
years, not actual counts or rates from any given single year. Changes from year to year may not be significant; rates can fluctuate greatly particularly in areas with small populations. Numbers are included to better convey what is behind variations in rates. Numbers are the average of infant deaths over the three year period indicated.
For data at the state level only as well as for other states, also see the indicator Infant Mortality based on data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics. These data represent single year rates and will therefore differ slightly from the three year calculations used here.
