Definitions: Fourth grade reading scores is the percentage of 4th grade students who scored at or above the proficiency level for reading on the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) test.

Data Source: The Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP).

Footnotes: Only students who actually took the NECAP test are counted in a district's proficiency rate. The NECAP test is given in October of each school year.
