Definitions: Parents’ Employment is the percent of all children under age 18 living in families where no parent has regular, full- time employment which is defined as working 35+ hours a week for 50 weeks in the previous 12 months.
Parents’ Employment is the percent of all children under age 18 living in families where no parent has regular, full- time employment which is defined as working 35+ hours a week for 50 weeks in the previous 12 months. Data are from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey Public Use Microdata Sample. The current rate represents the percent for calendar year 2018. The trend represents the average annual change for 2014–18. ACS data were not updated for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
