Definitions: Percent of live births in a given calendar year where mother received adequate prenatal care. Denominator involves live births only. Adequacy of care is based on Kessner index.

Data Source: Data were supplied by the Tennessee Department of Health, Office of Policy Planning and Assessment, Division of Health Statistics.

Footnotes: Starting from year 2004 data reflect the 2003 revised birth certificate which has the wording and source for data are substantially different from the 1989 standard birth certificate. Therefore, starting from 2004 the series are not comparable to previous years.
