Definitions: The number and percentage of all children under age 18 living below 100% of the federal poverty level (FPL) and between 100% and 199% of the FPL in a town or county. The numbers reported in this table reflect the number of children for whom income status has been determined, and therefore may differ from the numbers reported in the year's Child Population Table. Poverty is no longer determined in the decennial census therefore, as a comparison to the 2000 Decennial Census, two 5year American Community Survey Samples were used. Change is less pronounced, because of the overlap of 2 years (2007-2009).
