Definitions: Percent of babies weighing less than 5.5 lbs. (or 2,500 grams) at birth.

Definitions: The unemployment rate is the annual average of people ages 16 and over who are without a job but are actively looking for employment. The unemployment rate is the number of unemployed as a percent of the entire civilian labor force.  The civilian labor force (the denominator) includes persons who are unemployed  and looking for work.  The annual figures reported here are not seasonally adjusted.

Definitions: The number of deaths from all causes per 100,000 children ages 1-14. Regionally, the population of children ages 1-14 is estimated by subtracting births from official estimates of children ages 0-14. The data are reported by child's place of residence, not place of death.
