Education

Prior to the 2010-2011 school year, the Louisiana Department of Education used the following categories to describe race and ethnicity: American Indian, Asian, Black, Hispanic and White.  Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, two additional categories are reported ("Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander" and "More than one race, non-Hispanic"). As a result, data prior to the 2010-2011 school year is not directly comparable to data from the 2010-2011 school year and after.
