DC KIDS COUNT historically collected information from the DC Department
on Human Services on the number of children in families who applied and
were deemed eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly food stamps.
Beginning in 2010, we began reporting the number of families, children and adults who
