Wisconsin Shares Childcare Subsidies (per 1,000 children ages 0-7) (rate) – 2000 to 2011

Definitions: Subsidized children are those whose families are enrolled in Wisconsin Shares, the child care funding program. Those children also have an authorization stating the amount that the Wisconsin Shares Program will pay toward the cost of child care. Children are eligible in licensed, certified and “provisionally” certified settings. The Wisconsin Shares program began in the fall of 1997.


Rates are per 1,000 children ages 0 through 7 were developed using data by year. This is an unduplicated annual rate. Many of the children included in this rate are not enrolled in the program throughout the entire year.
