Definitions: Infant Mortality is death occurring to an infant under 1 year of age. Infant Mortality Rate measures the portion of all live births who die during their first year of life, and is reported as a rate for every 1,000 live births.  The data is reported by place of mother's residence, not place of birth or death.

Data Source: Death and birth data provided by Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH).

Footnotes: The state total may vary from the total of all counties since the state total may include births and deaths for which the county of residence was unknown or may vary due to rounding.  Numbers and rates may differ from an earlier Oklahoma Kids Count Factbook due to the availability of updated or corrected data. The 2009 and 2010 data is preliminary and subject to change.
LAST UPDATED OR EDITED: December 31, 2011.
