2009 data are the most recent available. The number of Marylanders receiving food stamps has steadily increased since 2009. State unemployment has also increased significantly since 2009, suggesting that more people are now eligible for food stamps. As such, the percent of eligible Marylanders using food stamps likely still lags behind the majority of other states.
