Definitions: This indicator represents the middle income point of the total number of families with children, including those with no income. The median is reflected in dollars and divides the number of families into two equal parts - half of families with children have incomes above the median and half have incomes below the median.

Data Source: U.S. Census Bureau - 1990 Census, Summary Tape File 3, Table P19; Census 2000, Summary File 3 (SF3), Table PCT39; American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates, Table B19125.

Footnotes: GEOGRAPHY - Data reflect the family’s place of residence. DATE - Census data reflect April 1 of reference year.  The ACS data reflect a 5-year pooled estimate.  LIMITATIONS - The sampling error associated with the 5-year ACS estimates can be substantial, especially for less populous areas and for small estimates.  Use caution when comparing multiple geographies or one geography over time.
