The MCT is designed to assess competencies in the areas of reading, language, and mathematics of Mississippi students in grades 2 through 8. Data from 2008 onward represent scores on the Mississippi Curriculum Test – 2nd Edition (MCT2). The MCT2 is based on the revised statewide language arts and mathematics curricula, and is administered to Mississippi students in grades 3 through 8. Differences in scores from 2007 to 2008 may represent a revision in proficiency level standards.
