Notes:
The percentage of students eligible for the federally subsidized free or reduced lunch program is often used as an indicator of family economics. The maximum family income for eligibility in the Free or Reduced Lunch programs is set at 185% of the Federal Poverty Line, which was about $39,200 for a family of four in 2008.
Data for City of Baker, Central Community, and City of Zachary districts are reflected in East Baton Rouge's data. Data for the City of Monroe district are reflected in Ouachita's data. Data for City of Bogalusa are reflected in Washington's data. Data for Recovery School District schools is reflected in the data of the parish in which the school is located. Data for Lab schools, Marine Institutes, and all other charter schools are NOT reflected in any parish's data because they can draw enrollment from multiple parishes. The data for these schools are, however, reflected in the statewide total. Data for Claiborne Parish includes Louisiana-resident students attending two Junction City, Arkansas, schools for which the Claiborne Parish school district provides funding and, in some cases, staff members.
Data reflect October enrollment counts, with the exception of data for SY 2005, which reflect February 2006 data.
