Definitions: The Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI) is a benchmark reading test that is administered three times per school year to all Idaho public school students in grades K-3. This data is from the fall session of each school year. So for example, the year 2000 data was collected during fall 2000 of the 2000-2001 school year. The Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI), as a result of Idaho Code enacted in 1999, is a benchmark reading test that is administered three times per school year to all Idaho public school students in grades K-3.
