Definitions: The percentage of low birthweight infants as a portion of all live births for which birthweight is known. Percentages are determined using the number of births for which the birthweight is known as the denominator.

Percentages for towns in which fewer than five births included low-birthweight babies are not calculated because of unreliability of calculations based on small numbers.

The number of low birthweight infants as a portion of all live births for which birthweight is known. Low birthweight is defined as less than 2,500 grams (5 pounds, 8 ounces).
