Definitions: The average number of breakfasts served by district during the 2002, 2004, and 2006 school years (SY), calculated by dividing the total number of breakfasts served by 180 (the minimum number of days a school is required to be open).

Children not eligible for the School Breakfast Program many purchase breakfast, and so this number should not be interpreted to represent the number of students eligible for the School Breakfast Program.

It should be noted that data for this indicator are reported for a school year (i.e., September-August) rather than for a calendar year (i.e., Jan-Dec) or a fiscal year (i.e., July-June).

Data Source: Connecticut State Department of Education data (SY 2002-2003, 2004-2005, and 2006-2007).

Footnotes: Charter/Magnet = the average number of breakfasts served by all charter schools and magnet schools in Connecticut

RESCs = the average number of breakfasts servey by all Regional Education Service Centers in Connecticut

SY = school year (Fall-Spring)
