Kids Count Data Center

Definitions: The number of children enrolled in Wyoming's KidCare CHIP or Medicaid Program.

Data is reported here for June enrollment of each year for both Medicaid and KidCare CHIP.

Footnotes: Eligibility Criteria for Wyoming Kid Care CHIP

·         Less than 19 years of age
·         A US citizen or lawful, permanent resident who has resided in the US for at least 5 years
·         Not a dependent of a State employee
·         Income eligible
·         Not in an institution
·         A WY resident
·         Not enrolled in Medicaid
·         Not currently covered by health insurance or have had health insurance within the last 30 days (with some exceptions).

Note: Maps use the natural break classification method, which reflects patterns in the data by dividing the map into naturally occurring groups. Using statistical tools, this method determines cut-off points for each group by identifying large gaps in data values.
