Definitions: Number of child abuse victims from reports classified as "probable cause" indicating that child abuse or neglect has occurred, and from children receiving family assessments.

Data Source: Missouri Department of Social Services; USDC, Bureau of the Census; Missouri Office of Administration, Division of Budget and Planning.

Note: Maps use the natural break classification method, which reflects patterns in the data by dividing the map into naturally occurring groups. Using statistical tools, this method determines cut-off points for each group by identifying large gaps in data values.
