Definitions: Children born to women who between 15-17 years of age at the time of birth. This Information is collected from birth certificates, and births are assigned to the county in which the mother resides, even if the birth occurs in a different county.

Data Source: Minnesota Department of Health, Center for Health Statistics.

Footnotes: Includes births to only 15- to 17-year-old girls. (13-, 14-, 18- and 19-year-olds are excluded from this measure.)

Note: Maps use the natural break classification method, which reflects patterns in the data by dividing the map into naturally occurring groups. Using statistical tools, this method determines cut-off points for each group by identifying large gaps in data values.
