Definitions: The rate of children ages 10-17 arrested during a calendar year.  The rate is per 1,000 children ages 10-17.  The annual arrest data counts all arrests of youth during the calendar year, including repeat offenses for the same individual.

Data Source: Maine Department of Public Safety, Crime in Maine Reports

Note: Maps use the natural break classification method, which reflects patterns in the data by dividing the map into naturally occurring groups. Using statistical tools, this method determines cut-off points for each group by identifying large gaps in data values.
