Definitions: Numerator: Number of deaths to Georgia teen residents ages 15-19. Denominator: Number of Georgia teens ages 15-19. Rates calculation: 100,000 times the numerator divided by the denominator.

Data Source: Death Certificate Records, Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Public Health, Office of Health Information and Policy. Data collection is the responsibility of the Vital Records Branch.

Note: Maps use the natural break classification method, which reflects patterns in the data by dividing the map into naturally occurring groups. Using statistical tools, this method determines cut-off points for each group by identifying large gaps in data values.
