Definitions: Number of Children in State Subsidized Child Care Projected Monthly Averages, Delaware, Fiscal Years 1995-2012.

Data Source: Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Social Services

Footnotes: *The welfare reform numbers refer to the number of children in families who receive Temporary Aid to Needy Families that year or received TANF child care for one year after leaving the TANF program.
**The income eligible numbers reflect the working poor families below 200% of poverty. 90% of children with authorization to receive subsidized child care attend in a given month.

Note: Maps use the natural break classification method, which reflects patterns in the data by dividing the map into naturally occurring groups. Using statistical tools, this method determines cut-off points for each group by identifying large gaps in data values.
